An evening under the stars...

The other day we were lucky to have the opportunity to go to Moonlight Cinema's opening night. All day big grey clouds looked like they were just waiting for the right moment burst!! The uninvited opening act was a spectacular sky show, we sat and watched as we enjoyed our picnic. As soon as the sun set and the film was rolling the rain fell and it looked like time to go home... But as they say, the show must go on!

Favourite things.

Kate Spade certainly has the midas touch. Everything she does is absolute perfection! Things we LOVE is no exception.

Where are you sunshine?

I had an exciting little package arrive for me last week. A gorgeous decal from Shanna Murray. I've been religiously checking my mailbox because it's been horrible weather here in Sydney and I didn't want it getting wet and ruined. Ironically my decal of choice was 'you are my sunshine' so it did bring a little sunshine into my day. Shanna is having a Holiday Sale! Get yourself your own little piece of sunshine to bring a sparkle to your day. Now to work out where to stick my little decal...

Mr & Mrs T.

For book and t-shirt lovers alike Out of Print is a celebration of stories through fashion. They even treat the fabric to have that soft and comfy feeling - just like your favourite well loved novels. If you're still not convinced... for every t-shirt sold one book is donated to a community in need through Books for Africa. Not only do you get a funky new t-shirt but you get that warm fuzzy feeling of helping someone experience the joys of reading.

How the world was made.

I just stumbled across this amazing clip that explains how the world was made - well not really the world... but a globe and it's fascinating!!

Kut Tay.

Just gorgeous.

here.

It's Movember.

Movember. The month that many the female species have come to dread... It's not the facial hair that's the problem - afterall it's only 1 month and the proceeds do go to charity (and who can complain about that?!). It's the testosterone driven competitiveness that comes out in full force that's the stickler. Men can turn almost anything into a competition - facial hair sprouting included!
If you're suffering from a serious case of mustache envy... get some instant gratification (on a stick) from the kind folk behind Something's Hiding in Here.

Blackboard.

This video is amazing. The thing I like most is that all the images that make up the video are temporary. Once they have been wiped from the boards they are gone - and all that remains is the film that captured them. So inspiring.

On a mission.

It's still raining... even in 'sunny' Queensland!
I'm visiting Mission Beach. If you're wondering where the name came from - take the long journey here and you'll understand. One thing is ... you won't regret it once you arrive. It's spectacular (yes, even in the rain).
I've been playing around with my Hipstamatic iPhone App. It's great fun! Here are some shots from our walk today.

Lawn Party.

Today is Melbourne Cup Day in Australia. Fondly known as 'the race that stops a nation'.
The fashions on the field at the Cup are just as famous (and scandalas) as the horses! Model Jean Shrimpton was the centre of fashion controversy when she wore a white dress cut 10cm above the knee, with no stockings, no hat and no gloves (shock, horror!!!) to Derby Day in 1965.

Spare a thought for the fashionistas at Flemington today as the weather here is a bit damp. As we all know soggy grass & heels aren't exactly friends. As for umbrellas ... we only ever want them in our cocktails!

Today my bet is on Linton. He's grey (like the weather). Run horsies RUN!

Flags & Ruffles

It's my Mum's birthday today... happy birthday Mum!!!!
Here are some delicious looking and absolutely gorgeous cakes and stands by Herriott Grace. I love that Herriott Grace is a father & daughter venture. The story of the creation of their store is beautifully inspiring.

j'aime la musique

Flicking through the pages of Food Fashion Friends (thanks to Green Frufru) to work out a menu for a dinner party we're having next weekend. With the aid of my trusty iTunes library I'm also listening to some of the playlist recommendations. A scensory experience indeed!!

Knock, knock...

The front door is the entrance to our home and gives our guest a 'first impression' of what they can expect once inside. Below are some fabulous doors! Unfortunately we can't see what's behind them, but we can use our imagination...

A home office should be functional but there is no reason why it should look like a cardboard cubicle! Here is some 'inspiration' that tickles my fancy.
