It's Movember.
Movember. The month that many the female species have come to dread... It's not the facial hair that's the problem - afterall it's only 1 month and the proceeds do go to charity (and who can complain about that?!). It's the testosterone driven competitiveness that comes out in full force that's the stickler. Men can turn almost anything into a competition - facial hair sprouting included!

Blackboard.
This video is amazing. The thing I like most is that all the images that make up the video are temporary. Once they have been wiped from the boards they are gone - and all that remains is the film that captured them. So inspiring.

On a mission.
It's still raining... even in 'sunny' Queensland!
I'm visiting Mission Beach. If you're wondering where the name came from - take the long journey here and you'll understand. One thing is ... you won't regret it once you arrive. It's spectacular (yes, even in the rain).
I've been playing around with my Hipstamatic iPhone App. It's great fun! Here are some shots from our walk today.

Lawn Party.
Today is Melbourne Cup Day in Australia. Fondly known as 'the race that stops a nation'.
The fashions on the field at the Cup are just as famous (and scandalas) as the horses! Model Jean Shrimpton was the centre of fashion controversy when she wore a white dress cut 10cm above the knee, with no stockings, no hat and no gloves (shock, horror!!!) to Derby Day in 1965.
Spare a thought for the fashionistas at Flemington today as the weather here is a bit damp. As we all know soggy grass & heels aren't exactly friends. As for umbrellas ... we only ever want them in our cocktails!
Today my bet is on Linton. He's grey (like the weather). Run horsies RUN!
